Scheduled Events

Alerts can be sent out based on the results of a saved query. Queries can be defined and saved using the Scheduled Events tab.

To display the main event properties, press the show details button next to the event.

The Select Query name is displayed. It is read-only and cannot be changed.

  • Description: A description of the selected query will be displayed. This can be modified for the alert as required.
  • Interval: Sets the interval between the running of the query, for example every 10 minutes. This can also be set to run the query at a specific time of the day, for example at the end of the working day 5:50pm.
  • Last Run Date (Read-only): The last date and time the query was run.
  • Next Run Date (Read-only): The next date and time the query will run.
  • Suspend Query: When this switch is set to Yes the query will be suspended and the alerts generated will be stopped.
  • Select Query: Select the button to open the Query Builder dialog. You can use this dialog to select an existing query or create a new one.

To select an existing query:
  • Click the Open button to display existing queries. A Load Searches for All Query Types dialog opens.
  • Highlight the required query to display the associated criteria.

  • Click Run Query to execute the query.

    Click the Select Query button to return the query to the Query Builder form.

To create a new query:
  • On the Query Builder form, select a Query type from the Query Type dropdown.

    A Criteria panel opens at the bottom of the page.

Press the button in the Criteria pane to add one or more criteria to your query. Mandatory fields are outlined in red and are marked by an asterisk.

  • Click the Operator dropdown and select either AND or OR.
  • Click the first Bracket dropdown and select the type of opening bracket to use for the query.
  • Click the Attribute dropdown and select from the list. Only those attributes that pertain to the Query Type that was selected are available for selection.
  • Click the Condition dropdown and select from the list. Options include Less than, Less than or equal to, Not equal to, Equals, etc.
  • In the Value field, enter a value that will be used when running the query.
  • Click the second Bracket dropdown and select the type of closing bracket to use for the query. It should be of the same type as the opening bracket that you selected.

Click Save to add the condition into the criteria list. A success message appears briefly onscreen. You can repeat this step as many times as required. Once finished press Cancel to close the Attribute Condition dialog and return to the Query Builder dialog.

You can now press the button to display the Save Query dialog:

Enter the name for the Query. This is a mandatory field. You can enter a Description. You can set the Private switch to Yes so it won’t be displayed or amended by other users. Click Save to save the query.
